The Bible says in Psalm 90:2, Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God. This means that God has existed from all eternity past and He shall continue to exist throughout all eternity future. In other words, God is infinite relative to the duration of His existence. The Bible further states that God is almighty or all-powerful, that is, He is omnipotent; His power is without limitation. Thus God is infinite so far as His power is concerned. Again we are told that God is all-knowing, that is, He is omniscient; His knowledge is without limitation. This is indicated by the fact that we are told in the Bible that He knows the number of hairs that are on our heads and we are also told that not one sparrow falls to the ground without His knowing about it. This means that if someone was to begin recording what God knows, even if he could type one hundred billion words per second, he would be writing forever, because the knowledge of God is infinite. Someone may argue that there has to be a limit to the amount of information which can be known in the Universe. I think one simple illustration can settle that argument. Though there is no proof for or against it, I believe since God is infinite that the Universe He created is most likely also endless. What I mean by this is if we could travel forever into space, we would never come to an end. Each time we passed a star or planet there would always be more space, more stars, and more planets ahead. If you believe the Universe ends at some point, my question to you is, if it does then what is beyond that? Thus, if the Universe is endless, there is an infinite amount of information to know and therefore the knowledge of God is infinite since He knows all there is to know and all there is to know is an infinite quantity. Thus, God is infinite so far as His knowledge is concerned. In Psalm 139:7-10, we read where David was speaking to God, Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there. These verses indicate that at every given moment in time God is present everywhere in the Universe, that is, He is omnipresent. In other words there is no place where God is not. If the Universe is infinite this means that His presence is infinite or without limit or end. So God is infinite so far as His presence is concerned. Having acknowledged that Gods existence, power, knowledge, and presence are infinite, it is safe to conclude that God is infinite in every aspect of His nature. What is meant by this is that in addition to the above infinite characteristics of Gods nature, His holiness is also infinite, His justice is infinite, His mercy or grace is infinite, and His love is infinite. As was stated at the beginning, the Bible says in, 1 John 4:8b, God is love. And since He is the infinite God, His love is also infinite. Therefore, when God loves his love can be nothing less than infinite. Thus, no matter what we do we cannot make Him love us less or more because His love is based on Who and what He is and not on who or what we are. His love is unconditional and therefore the extent of His love is unaffected by its object because it is always infinite. Every truly born again believer is commanded to love God and others with this same supernatural love. We are ordered to love even our enemies. In Matthew 5:43-48 Jesus said, "You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.' But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brethren only, what do you do more than others? Do not even the tax collectors do so? Therefore you shall be perfect, just as your Father in heaven is perfect.
