The Simple Facts About Falling In Love
by clemie - Tuesday, 4 December 2007, 02:31 PM
Anyone in the world

By Dr. Brenda Shoshanna We are meant to live a life of love. However, no matter how successful some are in other aspects of their lives, they dont feel its realistic to have the same success in love. But being in love is the most realistic thing you can do. It energizes your life, fills you with positivity, creates generosity and makes every moment beautiful. The body heals the heart is happy. The real question is, why arent we in love all the time? What keeps it away? The following steps will show you how easy it is to open your eyes and find love wherever you go. . 1) THE ONE RIGHT BESIDES YOU Most of the time we are searching for the right person and dont take a moment to stop and see who is right in front of our eyes. - Look at a person who is close to you right now anyone it happens to be. -Notice the ways in which you push him away. Stop doing that. -Allow the two of you to be together in whatever way you are. -Do the same thing tomorrow with someone else. We dismiss so many people who are in our worlds, while waiting for the right one to appear. The more we can be right with everyone, the sooner well find just what were looking for. 2)PLAYING AT LOVE So many complain that they are not loved. The reason for this is they are so busy playing games their partner never knows who they really are. -Notice what games you play in relationships, and what games you demand others play. See if you are in love with the person, or with the game you are both playing right now. -Become aware of the difference between who you are and the games you play. Let the games and be who you are. Who you are is always loveable. Its the games that get in the way. 3)LETTING HIM COME AND LETTING HIM GO -One obstacle to falling in love is the tendency to hold on to what is wrong. We grasp and cling to whatever we have, preventing the right one from coming to us. -When someone comes into your life (or day) practice letting him come. Enjoy him/her for whoever he is. -When it is time for a person to go, practice letting him go. Do not turn this into an experience of rejection or loss. It is simply time for him to go. - Do this with yourself as well. Let yourself come and go freely, not tying yourself in chains. The more we free others and ourselves, the more easily we fall in love. 4)PUTTING YOUR BAGGAGE DOWN Many feel that love is not possible unless all their demands are met. They can be quite amazed to discover that these demands dont lead to happiness. They may even be obstacles to falling in love. - Take a look at what you feel is absolutely necessary in relationships. Realize this is baggage you are carrying that may be keeping all kinds of people and possibilities away. - Let one of these demands subside. At first let it go for just one day. (Remember you can always take it back again). Now try another day. The more you do this the more lighter and happier you will feel. And the more space you will make for all kinds of new people, possibilities and situations to come your way. 5)GIVING GIFTS -What gifts do you give others in relationships? And what do you hope to receive in return? Its important to give openly as well as to receive. - Find something new you can give to somebody. Give it. Do this everyday. It does not have to be fancy or expensive. Do this with all kinds of different people. Do it quietly without fanfare and without expecting something in return. - Do this with yourself as well. Each day take a moment to find out what kind of gift you would like today. (A walk in the park, new lipstick, time with someone you care for.) Give this to yourself each day. Although this exercise is simple, it is extremely powerful. Doing this daily in your relationship can turn everything around. By living with this open, generous mind, all kinds of other gifts come to you naturally. 6) MAKING FRIENDS WITH YOURSELF Many say they are lonely, even with a partner at their side. This is simply because they have not yet made friends with themselves. Once they make friends with themselves and are able to be who they are, loneliness disappears. Make friends with yourself. Spend time noticing who you are. Accept all parts of yourself. Stop judging and rejecting what is going on inside. Understand you are perfect just as you are. Then choose to do the same in relationships. Choose to have relationships with those who want and appreciate just what you are. What You Should Know About Adoption
by clemie - Tuesday, 27 November 2007, 03:44 PM
Anyone in the world

By Michael Russell Adoption is the legal process of establishing a parent-child relationship where usually there is a non-existent natural relationship between them. In short, a child born from one set of parents becomes a child of another set of parents through legal means. After adoption, the adoptive parents assume all the rights and responsibilities that the biological parents used to hold. Adoption is usually done by a married couple to a minor who is not their natural child. In England for instance, an unmarried mother may adopt her own child so that the inheritance rights of her child are assured. Records show that in the United States almost half of all the adoptions are by relatives. Mostly these adopted children are born in wedlock while four out of five children adopted by strangers are born out of the bonds of marriage and are illegitimate. The United States has the highest percentage of white mothers who give their illegitimate child for adoption as compared with other countries. It has been observed that adoption agencies find it difficult to place older children, handicapped children and children of Negro or mixed race for adoption. Prompted by this reality, in 1957 a Montreal adoption agency pioneered a program that places part Negro children in white homes. Since then, similar efforts have been followed by several cities in the United States and Canada. There are two legal ways in which a couple desiring to adopt a baby can do so. First, they can go and apply to an adoption agency. The agency will assist them in looking for a child to adopt and who matches with their physical characteristics and background. The couple is screened by the agency's social worker and their capacity for parenthood is assessed. The couple should have a stable marriage and they should exhibit the capacity to love a child. These are the two basic rules a couple must adhere to in order to be granted adoption rights. But aside from these basic rules, most agencies require couples to follow additional guidelines and requirements. These include: 1. A proof of infertility that should be provided by the applicant since most adoption agencies require this, especially if the couple wants to adopt a white infant.
2. They should live within a specified geographic area.
3. They should belong to a church.
4. They should be under a maximum age.
5. The wife should be able to take care of the child. Because some of these criteria have been attacked through the years as having little validity, now the requirements are becoming more accommodating. Second, they can adopt a child directly from the natural parents by what is known as "independent adoption". Both these two methods of adoption go through judicial approval. Some couples engage in illegal placement referred to as "black market babies". This involves the paying of money for the child whether directly to the natural parents or through an intermediary who arranges the placement. Adoption can bring a new meaning to life for both to the child and the new parents. The child can fill the void in the adoptive parent's lives and the adoptive parents can fill the child's longing for loving parents that can nurture him or her physically and emotionally. By Ramona Mitchhart Age - It is going to affect each and everyone of us, you cannot stop the aging process but you can influence the impact it has on your skin, Whether you are young or more mature, it is never to late to start a skin care program that will improve the skins hydration and overall appearance
Regardless of your age, keeping your complexion healthy and glowing is one of the smartest things you can do. The first step to a glowing complexion is cleansing your skin daily. Cleanses with ground oatmeal, sunflower seeds, aloe vera or organic sugar can help you with this step. Follow this step with a good toner for your skin type. Cleansing scrubs, should also be used as an important part of your weekly regime. Scrubs will exfoliate your skin, remove dead skin cells, and improve the texture of your skin. You should follow cleansing and toning with a good moisturizer designed for your skin type. Microderm Abrasion is used to eliminate the top layer of the epidermus, bringing newer skin to the surface. It removes the old layer of skin by polishing or acting as an abrasive, to improve imperfections and fine lines this is a wonderful addition to your skin care regime and should be done weekly. By Rick Johnson Recruitment consists of knowing exactly what you are looking for, determining how to know when youve found it and making employment offers that get accepted. The first step is determining exactly what level of competency you are looking for: THE IMPLICATIONS OF COMPETENCIES People have and get
COMPETENCIES
(Combinations of knowledge, skills and attitudes) We apply these in the form of
BEHAVIOR
(Actions, thoughts feelings) Our behavior produces
OUTPUTS
(Products and services) How this is done yields
RESULTS
(Criteria for managing the prior three steps) In order to determine the kinds of people you are looking for, it sometimes helps to start with a picture of the ideal candidate. This person would possess the competencies and exhibit the behaviors that generate ideal results. What would happen if someone: Negotiated the best deal every time you placed an order?
Romanced the Reps that call on you?
Aggressively worked on getting the right new lines?
Placed literature orders weekly?
Used every order to get a favor?
Really planned and prepared for sales meetings?
Kept a leash on salespeople giving away margin?
Assured that you had enough accurate competitive price information?
Stayed awake at night worrying about dead inventory?
Made sure that buddy calls and product training was effective?
Stayed on top of cycle counts to make sure the inventory was accurate?
Actually matched up your order backlog with vendors and your sales forecast?
Changed inventory mix to account for lost sales? The list could go on and on but you get the idea. Look at each independent job opening on the basis of competency required. Work with Human Resources to complete a functional job analysis.
Do not wait for a crisis in manpower before you start a proactive recruitment program.
Create a job search specification outlining exactly what you are looking for. True Job Performance is determined by both ability and willingness Ability + Willingness = Effective Results The following is an example of a Proactive Sales Recruitment Program. Objective To upgrade the performance of our field sales, sales support and service organizations by proactively managing the recruiting function as an ongoing process in areas where weaknesses exist. Strategy Phase I Philosophy of Retaining Vs. Replacing Upgrading of skill levels, experience and leadership development. This includes product knowledge, education, business acumen and coaching and mentoring skills. It is understood that it is a managers responsibility to retain quality employees through proper training, mentoring and counseling. However, a program of proactively recruiting is necessary in order to ensure that we have the best person in each position. Marginal employees should be replaced with exceptional employees. This program is being developed to achieve this objective. Phase II - Upgrading Names of under performers to be given to human resource to initiate recruiting process
De-emphasize the perception that sales hires must have industry experience
Emphasize to managers that the hiring process is a high priority
Hold all management level employees accountable for recruitment Phase III Recruiting Process Continue to post all jobs internally
Use new employee referral bonus program when possible
Develop an internal skills bank to readily identify individuals with basic skills to match open positions
Ad placement in key target areas
Manager generated leads (including competition)
Networking
Internet (internal and external sources)
Use search firms when the job and skill levels justify the investment Phase IV Improved Hiring Process Hiring managers interview and accept/reject replacement candidates resumes in an expeditious timeframe (3-5 days)
Phone interview to be conducted by Human Resources on candidates chosen
Interview to be scheduled in timely manner (within 1 week after phone interview) with appropriate manager Phase V Continued Growth and Skill Building - Training Internal training and development programs
Managed on the job development (develop training program for new employee)
External training and development opportunities (seminars, supplier training, management courses)
Create selective leadership intern programs Long Range Planning Expand sales recruiting program to 10 participants (G-Force or Jr. Sales Reps)
Continue to modify recruiting function as needed to assure company staffing goals are met and in anticipation of changing staffing needs
Increase number of recruits from competition (including other types of distribution sales) by increasing knowledge of competitive talent pool (direct feedback from sales managers is needed to make this successful) The Managers Job Interview twice per week/month
Build and maintain records (target 10)
Source from reps/customers
Dont wait for annual appraisals to discuss job performance with employees Using a Professional Advantage of skills

Which best represents you Retention Employee retention is heavily dependent upon two key factors: 1. Leadership skills of management 2. Human Resource Strategy No matter how wonderful your company is, people wont stay if their front line supervisor is an untrained jerk with poor people skills. Of course, if you have a definitive Human Resource strategy, the untrained jerks will no longer be managing your employees. In fact, they will probably be working for someone else. Things To Remember Managers are allowed to hold employees accountable through discipline and provide constructive feedback, but never at the same time.
Managers should never ask why an employee does anything. Responding to the word why requires justification and evokes defensiveness. Try instead, I would like to understand your reasons for. . . .
In making constructive feedback, managers should encourage employees to listen to the substance of the discussion and avoid becoming defensive. Delivering constructive feedback well should be a key management skill.
Managers should never try constructive feedback in a situation unless they can actually suggest behavioral alternatives.
If an employee fails in a situation, the manager should recognize his/her failure to train, develop, support or communicate.
Both sides should recognize the difficulties inherent in constructive feedback and recognize its importance in transmitting the experience required for growth.
The employee should always confirm his/her understanding of the feedback by restating it in the form, If I understand you correctly, you are saying. . . . Is that correct?
If either party feels uncomfortable after a constructive feedback discussion, they should say so:
o Boss, I feel like Ive just been punished because you. . .
o Joe, I feel that you became defensive because you. . .
When the system works, you have a Win-Win situation because you both have the same objectives. It works better if you try to help each other. Regardless of your company size and number of employees, if you are committed to becoming an EOC you must educate your management staff. All your managers, from warehouse supervisors up to the President, should receive specific leadership and people skills training. Expecting your managers to create an EOC culture without training them in these skills is like asking Michael Jordan to play in the World Series. Hes a superb athlete but he just doesnt have the skill set to play major league baseball. Provide the opportunity for your management staff to acquire the skill set necessary to promote retention. As managers, we must continuously look for ways to uncover potential new employees who have the attitude and the skill set to perform up to our expectations. But, no matter how much we prepare or are committed to being Employer Of Choice, our ultimate desirability as an employer comes down to culture. Solid preparation, testing and demonstrating the qualities of Employer of Choice increases our odds for success but it does not guarantee it. Obviously skill sets come first and they are identifiable and measurable. But, beyond these tangible, measurable factors lies the true immeasurable, cultural factors that separate the winners from the losers. Those factors include: Positive attitude
Willingness
Inner strength
Self-motivation
Competitive drive If these factors are missing the odds against the employee living up to expectations are enormous regardless of their skills sets. The most talented A players in the industry are competitive to the point where they are actually driven to achieve at a level even beyond their talents. Add sell-discipline, self-motivation and attitude and you have a winner worth keeping. It's The Little Things That Count
by clemie - Saturday, 24 November 2007, 06:53 AM
Anyone in the world

By Tim Connor As relationships mature, grow and develop people can sometimes forget the little things that can have a positive impact on the quality of the relationship. I put these in three categories: Simple courtesies, simple pleasures, and simple words. Lets look at each of these in a little more depth. Simple courtesies. These are the common courtesies that many people fail to do after a relationship has reached the taking you for granted stage. Such as saying thank you and please. Opening doors (this is for the ladies too) I have never subscribed to the theory that women are so weak that they need men to open doors for them. Men do it because they have manners. As a man I feel the same way, there is nothing wrong with a woman opening a door or holding it as I pass through rather than let it slam in my face. Remembering special dates, events, needs, wants, desires and dreams. Doing what you say you are going to do whether it is a telephone call or being on time, for anything. Late says what I was doing is more important than you are. One of my pet peeves is people who are late. What an insult. I know, I know - there is traffic, last minute somethings, but let these be the exceptions and not the rule. Simple pleasures. Such as sending flowers, greeting cards giving inexpensive gifts for no reason that say you are special, I was thinking about you. Warming up your spouses car in the morning before they head off to the world of commerce. A back rub and foot massage. There are a million ways you can say you are special. Get creative, get outside of yourself for once, and put the other person in your life first. Simple words. Saying - Im sorry, I forgive you, it will be OK, I know how you feel, I believe in you, I have confidence in you, you can do it, Im there for you. This list is endless as well. How often do you go out of your way for that special person in your life? And, you dont have to limit any of these to your partner, spouse or significant other. There is a whole world out there in need of a kind word, a friendly face, a moment of your time. Are we becoming so rushed, busy and pressured as a society that we no longer have or take the time for these three simple behaviors? I hope not. Why not call someone today and thank them for something. Tell them you care, they are special, you were thinking about them. Why not send a small gift, anything a greeting card. These acts do not guarantee successful relationships, but they can go a long way in improving them.
