Anyone in the world By Carmel Baird You have decided on your wedding ceremony and your wedding reception, everything is booked. Now is the time to think about your wedding invitations. Do you have a theme for your wedding? Or are you just going with a color scheme? Either way, this will help you decide on the style of wedding invitation. You should have a list of guests, family and friends, that you wish to invite. Having said that, you also need to decide if it will be an adults only wedding or if you will be including all the family, adults and children. You can save money with the cost of the invitations if you are including the whole family as smaller children can be included on the invitation sent to the parents, adult children sometimes like their own invitation. With computers these days, many invitations are designed and printed on the home computer. There are some wonderful papers and styles and even computer programs especially for just this. The tone of the invitation will follow the tone of the wedding. A more formal wedding will have a more formal wedding invitations, a more relaxed, casual style wedding will have a more relaxed style of invitation. If you dont want to try the computer invitations, another option is the specialty packs available from stationery suppliers. They can include the invitations, place cards for the wedding reception, thank you notes and envelopes and matching stationery for personal notes etc. The next option is the printer, you can find these normally in the yellow pages and often times they will be listed under Weddings. Make your list, phone for appointments and get your quotes. Whatever way you decide to go, you will need the wording for the invitations. Basically it is the four Ws, Who, What, Where and When. Who-- is doing the inviting, this will be the name of the host and/or hostess
What-- is announcing the celebration of the marriage of...
Where-- Is the place where the ceremony and reception will take place
When--is the date the happy event will occur. Then comes the RSVP by a certain date. When you think about it, you are inviting someone to an event, your wedding, you want them to know who is inviting them, you want them to know where it is and when it is. There may be those you are only inviting to the wedding ceremony, then there will be the guests you wish to celebrate with you at both the ceremony and the wedding reception and then the guests who will be only invited to the wedding reception. So your invitations could be for three different events. You will need three different lists. Browse other wedding invitations, you will find wedding etiquette books or online sites that will help you. Start a file of the ones you like the best, then make your decision. Six weeks before the wedding date is a good time to send the invitations out. This is considered enough time for your friends and family to organize to have the date free. Always check with the wedding caterers and/or reception venue as to when they require the definite guest numbers and remember to include the bridal party and immediate families. When ordering invitations specially printed, order extra in case you make some mistakes when writing them out. While we are on the writing out of invitations, calligraphers will do this for you and give your invitations that old world feel, this of course, depends on the theme of your wedding too. In some cultures, it is the tradition to include the RSVP and return addressed and postage stamped envelope with the invitation. This is an extra cost and not always necessary today. If you include your phone number as well as your address for the RSVP, then including the stamped, addressed envelope may be an unnecessary added cost. Remember, inviting someone to your most special day, your wedding day, will make them feel so special. Anyone in the world By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Anne_Clarke] Anne Clarke Some of the highest quality oxygen equipment is designed exclusively for hospital use. There are many things to consider when purchasing the right kind of oxygen equipment. It must be considered based on the diagnosis, whether someone has been diagnosed with asthma, emphysema, or any other kind of pulmonary condition. Another aspect that must be taken into account is whether he or she has just recently been diagnosed, or if the disease is still in its early stages. The difference of someones ability to use more portable oxygen equipment may depend on whether it has progressed to more advanced stages. More considerations must of course, be taken into account, such as the individuals medical history, family medical histories etc. It is often suggested by doctors that the patient have one or even two back up oxygen mechanisms for their condition in case of an emergency. If a patient uses home oxygen equipment that patient is most likely to have direct and consistent contact with a doctor and virtually always the patient has a caregiver who lives with him or her. The following are some basic guidelines to remember for a caregiver, as well as the patient using any home oxygen equipment: 1. Always be sure that your oxygen tanks are upright. This is very important to the distribution of oxygen into the patients medical apparatus and therefore, his or her lungs. 2. Even if an oxygen tank is old or not currently being used by the patient, never smoke or light fires of any kind whatsoever around these tanks. 3. Warn people! Wherever you store the patients oxygen equipment be sure to put up no smoking signs even if it is unlikely that someone would smoke there. 4. Keep a fully functional fire extinguisher in the house. In addition, let the local fire department know of your individual situation and the kind of equipment you use. 5. The patient must never increase or decrease the amount of oxygen he or she is taking without the expressed permission of a doctor. Like many kinds of medication too much can be harmful, and too little is harmful as well. 6. Always have the phone number for the manufacturers of your oxygen equipment handy. Just as you keep the phone numbers of your doctor, poison control hotlines, or any other emergency telephone numbers. 7. Liquid oxygen tanks make for a good back up oxygen source. They are simple to use in case of a blackout or other possible causes of home oxygen equipment failure. There are all kinds of equipment out there for each and every type of pulmonary condition no matter what it is or how far the disease has progressed. And, naturally, there are also specific guidelines that MUST be executed and followed to the letter for every piece of virtually life saving oxygen equipment available. Anyone in the world By Kevin Stith Since the World Wide Web has changed how we live, even florists have become virtual shops. Now, from the security of your home or office, you can log on to an online florist or florist directory and order fresh flowers, a dried arrangement, a potted plant, or a customized arrangement to be sent to any corner of the world. There are many different options one can choose from. Leading florists in the US have online sites and computerized sending systems which ensure that your order is delivered when and how you want it. Many of these online florists have a professional network of 30,000 or more affiliate florists located in urban cities, towns, and villages within the US and different countries of the world. So, when you place an order, a florist will customize your order and ensure that it is delivered in good condition and on time. When you place the order you can specify which flowers you want, what kind of arrangement, the colors, as well as packaging. They will, at your request place a beautifully designed card or message with the bouquet. There are innovative florists who send not just flowers or potted plants but fruit, wine, teddy bears, chocolates, or balloons for delivery. They will even make a mixture of a basket that contains flowers, fruit, wine, gay ribbons, and balloons. A specialty of some online florists is sending flowers direct from growers. The orders are shipped out directly by growers themselves to all parts of the world. Online directories like Google and Yahoo give you many options to choose from, as they list different online florists from different parts of the world. Then there are groups of flower growers, brokers, shippers, and online shopping sites who have reached a business understanding to ship boxes of fresh flowers by overnight air. These are generally a few days fresher and less expensive than flowers one orders from professional florists. The only downside is that the recipients need to unpack and put the flowers in a vase themselves. A less popular category of online florists are sites run by agents, middlemen, resellers, and catalogue companies. They receive orders and then forward them to florists who will actually do the work. In many instances, these are people with little or no experience with the world of flowers. As a consumer it is up to you to do your homework and log on to a reliable online florist. Online Flowers provides detailed information on Online Flowers, Online Flower Deliveries, Online Flower Shops, Order Flowers Online and more. Anyone in the world By Gabrielle Melisende Have you ever wondered how so many beauty salons, web design companies, attorneys or Mexican restaurants can exist in the same geographic area? Especially in small populated areas? Maybe the demand is high. Or, perhaps some of these businesses have set themselves apart by targeting a niche market. A niche is a special area of demand for a product or service. Not all beauty salons, for example, are created equal in price, customer service, convenient location and hours, scheduling, stylist expertise and so on. The same is literally true for all businesses; web design, marketing consultants, hardware stores, attorneys. The list goes on. Creating a niche and marketing to both your general and niche markets is a smart business and marketing strategy. You cannot expect to start a business with millions of world wide competitors (via the Internet), hundreds or thousands of regional competitors and a dozen or more local competitors, and instantly, or easily, gain a fair market share without creating a niche market. Every business has a niche. The key is identifying what that niche is. An online retailer like Amazon.com has a different niche than competitors Barnes & Noble or Borders who rely more on developing a local presence and foot traffic. A few years ago DHL came out with a brilliant commercial pitting itself against the leading overnight delivery service. DHL did not claim to be number one or lower priced. Instead they capitalized on a niche market, being number two and a reliable back up service when you, the consumer, need it most. It was a brilliant campaign. Identifying or creating a niche means digging deeper into what sets your business, product or service apart from the competition. The typical marketing question is "Why would I buy from you instead of Company X?" Your answer will likely just scratch the surface and match what many competitors could claim. This is where you dig deeper. Look at your location, hours of operation, years of experience, price point, friendly staff, response time to customer inquiries or processing orders, the quality of your product or delivery of your service, personalized attention, and so on. For example, marketing easy access to your business from a major road or highway is a niche that should drive traffic and make sales soar. If you are the only video store in your area play it up. If your video store carries a large selection of hard to find movies in VHS format and stays open until midnight, those are two more niche markets. Being a new wholesale supplier in a regional area is big news to your local city as well as the region, creating multiple niches for your business overnight. Claims of being the first, the only one or the original are unique niche selling points that no one else can (legitimately) claim. Do not wait for your industry or market to become saturated to identify and market your niche. Start now. Work both your general market as well as your niche market to develop a solid foundation for success so you can survive when competition does heat up. As your business grows or your industry changes so will your niche opportunities grow and change. Anyone in the world By Heidi Richards Cross promoting with other businesses can give you a significant advantage over the competition, with many benefits and cost savings. -Heidi Richards- More and more competition in the marketplace is making it necessary for companies to find creative ways to connect with customers and prospects, to enhance brand identity and attract top-notch employees. In order to enhance competitiveness in todays marketplace, more and more companies are forming strategic alliances. Strategic alliances can maximize your position in the marketplace. When you learn how to leverage partnerships you increase your market share. It is also a very smart way to grow a small business. Cross promoting with other businesses can give you a significant advantage over the competition with many benefits and cost savings. A strategic alliance is based on an arrangement between two companies to combine resource that will help both gain a greater share of the market. They are often formed when one business alone is unable to fill the gap in serving the needs of the marketplace. Forming strategic alliances can save time and boost productivity. It enables companies to be more efficient and concentrate on the core strengths in developing their products and services. These alliances can be formal (partnership agreement is put in writing) or informal (a handshake is all that is necessary to seal the deal). There are several ways you can collaborate with another business or individual to increase revenue, traffic, and even expertise to your business which ultimately will increase the value to the end-user (customer). Find the Right Partners Collaborate with a well-known company - Most small businesses benefit from partnerships that add value, prestige and greater credibility to their own endeavors. Associating with a well-known business can give your company instant credibility and exposure. Its not always about the bottom line. Collaborate with Your Best Customers Look at the company or companies who do the most business with yours. Work with them to solidify the relationship by offering them more than just good products and service. Make it nearly impossible for them to consider going anywhere else. Continually asking them why they do business with you and why they stay are the best ways to keep them. Collaborate with the Nonprofit Community Joining forces with nonprofits can increase your circle of influence and your visibility in the community. Collaborate with a Former Employer You offer a product or service the former employer needs and provide it to them. You become a subcontractor or vendor to them. One of my dear friends worked for a fast-food company as their corporate trainer. When she decided to go into business for herself, they hired her to continue to provide training to their employees for several years. As her first major contract, the collaboration they created started her company on the road to success, and she still travels and does work for them. Collaborate with a Competitor Believe it or not, competitors can be very good partners. For instance, they may offer a service or product you dont or dont wish to and vice-versa. They may also have the ability to handle a larger job than your company. Joining forces with another business on a project makes you look good to the customer. You become the hero. In 1999, I had the opportunity to provide all the decorations for a HUGE Floral Fair in Miami, Florida. I knew my small company alone could not handle all the business. So I called several other florists in the community whom I admired and who did similar work. I subcontracted them to do portions of the project and get a piece of the action. Because these were floral importers we were serving, the other florists had the opportunity to network with and find new suppliers of product. It was easy to convince them to participate. It was such a success, that it has been an ongoing project for several of the shops over the years. Think about the many businesses that are natural partners. In the real estate field, realtors partner with one another when selling a house. Florists partner with caterers, photographers and others in the event industry. Automobile insurance companies often partner with auto repair companies to insure their customers get the best service at a fair price. In an issue of Entrepreneur Magazine, I read about a coffee company in New Jersey who became the ultimate collaborator. The coffeehouse carries works from a local art gallery, has a reciprocal agreement with a local community theatre to offer significant discounts to their patrons, cross promotes with a local music store, book store, cigar shop, as well as many local nonprofits. My flower shop has partnered with masseuses, welcome-to-the-neighborhood companies, travel agents, professional organizers, beauty salons, and realtors, and several nonprofits, to name a few. We have collaborated on networking events such as business after hours and open houses. We have promoted one another through door hanger campaigns. We have given each other our coupons to distribute to other companies. We have carried one anothers business cards and brochures to distribute to our respective clients and customers. We have given away one anothers products to our customers. We offer hyperlinks on one anothers websites to further promote each other. The possibilities are endless. Look for opportunities in your community that would be mutually beneficial to your partnership. The real key to success in cross-promotion, is to collaborate with non-competing businesses that are going after the same client or customer base. Choose businesses and people you trust. The promotion should make sense to both partners. It should be a true win-win for everyone involved. Plan the promotion and evaluate the Alliance on a regular basis. Look for ways to expand your reach without increasing your overhead or debt. Anyone in the world By Douglas Hanna If it seems like your grocery bill gets higher every month, it might not be your imagination. Food costs are going up and are likely to continue doing so for the foreseeable future. So what's a shopper to do? Here are seven solid tips for cutting your grocery bill. They make a little time and research but can pay off big next time you go through the checkout at your favorite store. Tip # 1: Become a coupon addict. Watch your local newspaper for money-saving coupons for food and non-food items. Some families make a game of this with a prize for whoever finds the most valuable coupons. Look carefully and you may find coupons worth as much as a dollar off items you can use. If you do not subscribe to a daily newspaper, consider signing up for a subscription, as it might be a very good investment. If possible, subscribe to just the weekday editions as most newspapers have a special food section in their Wednesday edition and that's where the coupons will be. You can also get money-saving coupons online. Two sites I like are: www.valuepage.com and www.smartsource.com. Tip #2: Always make a list. People who shop without a list almost always end up buying impulse items which can run up your grocery bill dramatically. Start by making a menu list for the week built around the coupons or specials you've been able to find in step #1. Then build your shopping list based on your menu planning. Do not buy convenience items. If you must buy convenience items, try to make it those for which you have coupons or where the tore is running a special. This means cook from scratch as much as possible. Tip #3: Watch your attitude. Many experts will tell you that the number one mistake people make when shopping is their attitude. For example, never shop before breakfast, lunch or dinner. You will always buy more when you're hungry. Avid shopping when you're tired o angry as the experts say that's when you're most likely to reach for those expensive snack foods and other such goodies. If you're angry, it becomes easier to go for junk food. So, don't go shopping if you just had a fight or a bad experience with your boss. Tip #4: Get a notebook. Devote one page to each item your family buys regularly. Write down what you usually pay for the item. If you see an especially good price, make a note of where and whet it is. This way, you'll know when a store sale or special is just advertising or is a really good value. When you find an item your family uses regularly, stock up on it. When you buy these items at markdown prices, you can easily save 15 percent to 20 percent on your groceries. Tips #5: Know when not to use a list. When it comes to produce, take the farmer's market approach. Buy what's fresh, inexpensive and in-season. Then, adapt your menus accordingly. You will get good buys and your family will get the freshest food. Tip #6: Grocery stores are for groceries. Avoid purchasing non-grocery items at the grocery store. While it's more convenient to buy your laundry detergent, toothpaste, painkillers, etc. at the grocery store, it's also probably more expensive. Instead, check out the prices of these items at Wal-mart, K-mart, Super Target and even Walgreen's. You may find you can save as much as $15 to $20 a week just by buying your non-grocery items some place other than the grocery store. Tip #7: Does your store honor competitor's prices? If you find items you need at a store where you don't shop, request price matching from the store where you do. Suppose, for example, the store across town where you dont normally shop is offering turkeys for 29 cents a pound and the price at your store is 59 cents. Don't be afraid to ask your store if they'll match the 29-cent price. This is an especially good way to get bargains on things like meat or vegetables where coupons are rarely offered. Anyone in the world By Nathan T. Lynch The term making love has different meanings to different people. In general, in human nature, on TV shows and in movies, the term making love is used to define a tender moment of intimacy between two people. Yes, it usually indicates the act of intercourse, but it is supposedly describing it in a more substantial and meaningful way. The term making love is supposedly meant to imply something beautiful, something romantic ~ to create love. It is used to intentionally deter from giving the vision or thought of sex as being something obscene. The term making love wasnt always used to depict the actual act of having sex. It was used to describe something more pure and even innocent. In the old days, the words making love were used to describe any romantic, intimate gesture. Something as simple as a kiss, a flirtation, an expression of devotion, or even a dance was defined as making love. Times sure have changed, havent they? The days of wine and romance seem to be long gone, but for some of us, the words making love still hold a special meaning. Everyone at one time or another has probably been told, or they themselves have said to another Im not just having sex with you, Im making love with you. Of course, those statements are not always made with the utmost genuineness. It tends to give the term a bad name when used in those circumstances. But hopefully, common sense or gut instinct will let you know when its not being said to you in all sincerity. If not, and you realize at a later time, chalk it up to experience. Live and learn, then move on and acknowledge the lesson. But hopefully you have a partner who does acknowledge the significance of the words making love in their true sense. It should be an intimate and passionate experience. Making love, in the actual sense of the term, can be one of the most fulfilling exchanges of trust between two people. So choose your words wisely people, for tomorrow they may come back to haunt you. making love can be a natural and expressive way to show your love. love making tip is your articles and resource guide to making love. Anyone in the world By Jed Baguio Everything started off so well. You started changing the way you eat to a more balanced nutrious diet. Then you began exercising and the fat started to drop off. But suddenly it all halted when you thought everything went well. You may wonder what was happening to your weight loss program now. Youll think anything and take everything that might be helpful in your weight loss program. This article helps you realized where and what really went wrong. What really happened? When you changed the way you eat by reducing your calorie intake slightly and started exercising, you were burning more calories than your body was taking in hence the initial fat loss. And now when your body is smaller you are still burning the same amount of calories that you are taking in and therefore not losing any extra fat. You are just maintaining. Is that really so? What do you do now? There are two easy options. Achieving these options can help you avoid hitting a weight loss plateau. These are: Be careful in reducing your calorie intake again. Dont restrict it too much. If you restrict it too much your body will go into starvation mode. This will not help and it will only store those calories as fat and this will make the scenario even worst. Aim to reduce your calorie intake by about 20%. Certainly you should take no more than this. Increase the amount of physical activity you are doing. Also change your daily physical routine. This gives the idea that your body has adapted to the routine you were doing previously and has a tendency that your body is used to the daily routine and burns the same amount of fat all over. So you now need to give some extra spice either by picking up the intensity with some interval training or changing your weight training routine so that youll burn more fats when you gain extra weight. Through these 2 easy options you should be able to get your body burning that excess fat again and say goodbye to that plateau. Keeping an eye on your measurements is recommended so that you know if you have hit a plateau early. In this way youll be able to burn those fats successfully or otherwise youll waste weeks of effort before you have even realized. Anyone in the world By William Wilson So, you have finally decided that the unwanted hair has to go. You are sick and tired of the daily or weekly ritual of shaving, waxing, or creaming off the hair, and want a more permanent solution. Many people turn to the latest trend in hair removal - the laser. This procedure has been touted as the permanent solution to unwanted hair removal, and has shown great promise in delivering on that claim. However, before investing your valuable time and hard earned money into laser treatments, don't you owe it to yourself to perform a little research on the procedure? Of course you do, and the following questions and answers will assist you in making an educated decision as to whether laser treatments are right for you. Exactly what is the laser procedure? The laser hair removal process centers on the delivery of light, at a specified wavelength, from a handheld instrument into the skin, where it targets darker material. This material is usually the pigment found in the hair. This causes damage to the hair follicle, slowing or eliminating future growth, while not affecting the surrounding tissue area. Is the procedure safe? The procedure has been deemed safe by the FDA when administered by a licensed medical practitioner. Always use a licensed medical doctor, preferably a dermatologist or plastic surgeon, to perform these treatments. And don't be afraid to request customer references from your prospective doctor before signing up for treatments. Will I need more than one treatment? The laser procedure is generally a multi-visit hair removal process. Basically, the larger the area of unwanted hair, i.e. back or legs, the greater the number of treatments required. This should be a key factor in your decision to use this procedure, because treatments can be rather expensive. Who is best suited for this procedure? People who tend to respond most positively to this procedure tend to be light skinned and possess a darker hair color. The laser procedure is not as effective on unpigmented hair, such as, gray or blonde hair. Those who have darker skin tones, or tans, must be very cautious due to the risk of tissue damage. Extreme cases have been known to experience burns, lesions or even skin discoloration. Are the results of the laser procedure permanent? This is a question which is still being debated. Because of the relative newness of the procedure, data collection has been less than adequate. Until more experience and analysis is available, be wary of any doctor claiming that it is 100% foolproof. At present, the medical consensus is that the laser hair removal process will result in a range of outcomes, dependent on the patient's physical characteristics. In general, you can expect to experience a dramatic reduction in hair growth, and if and when hair does re-grow, it will come back lighter in color or finer in texture. One thing to remember before committing to laser treatments is that the procedure is still relatively new and results can vary considerably. If you decide that this hair removal process is for you, your next step is to consult with a medical practitioner of your choice and ask plenty of tough questions. If you are 100% satisfied with all of the doctor's answers, then this may very well be the answer to your unwanted hair dilemma. Bill Wilson is a writer of health and beauty articles for a number of skin and hair care websites. He is an advocate for natural remedies and skin and hair care treatments. Anyone in the world By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Craig_Thornburrow]Craig Thornburrow Out of all the features and components of a mobile phone, perhaps the ringtone is the most customizable of them all. Mobile phone users are able to customize and personalize the tone to reflect their personality or mood, and they can even, on some models, use different sounds for different callers. The first ever programmable ringtones were the monophonic ringtones, which although technologically advanced at the time, were able only to reproduce sounds using one single note at a time. Later models included the next step in ringtone technology, the groundbraking polyphonic ringtone, which allowed multiple notes to be played together. Now most mid to high level cell phones are shipping with truetone ringtones, the most realistic ringtone available on the market today. Truetone ringtones are simply not generated like other ringtone types, but rather are actual recorded sound. Truetone ringtones utilize a number of digital encoding technologies to store their sound information. The most basic format for truetone ringtones is WAV, which is uncompressed waveform data. Truetone ringtones in WAV format have outstanding sound quality but, since they are uncompressed, they take up a lot of disc space. Various compression technologies can be used to reduce the size of truetone ringtones and, if the proper parameters are chosen when compressing, can sound almost identical to the bulkier WAV truetone ringtones. Some of the available compression options for truetone ringtones are OGG (an open source compression format which is favored on Linux based PDAs and phones), Windows Media, and, probably the most popular and widely used format, MPEG-3 (more commonly referred to as mp3). While many truetone ringtones are available for download on the internet for free or for a small charge, you can also create your own from digital media. There are various shareware programs that will let you rip music from CDs, select a sample, and convert it to the format of your choosing.
